Back in spring 2021, a group of Cyprus-based entrepreneurs wanted to explore the island's technological and business potential, which still had a long way to go.
Extensive discussions led to concrete suggestions, and a non-profit association named TechIsland was established to bring them forward. The organization decided to accelerate the tech industry's growth and place Cyprus on the global tech map.
Currently, TechIsland has an ambitious mission of turning Cyprus into a world-class destination for talent and make the tech industry the most impactful driver of GDP growth, and expand the job market.

TechIsland Academy is the initiative launched by TechIsland to furnish comprehensive insights and timely updates on the most critical matters related to the functioning of tech companies in Cyprus. The TechIsland CY Guide Chatbot is a unique tool designed to facilitate the transition for individuals relocating to Cyprus. It serves as a digital guide, providing users with vital information on taxation, immigration, banking, and day-to-day life on the island. Recognizing the surge in new residents and the challenges they face, TechIsland introduced this chatbot to make the relocation process seamless. The ultimate goal is to make newcomers feel welcome and effortlessly integrated into Cypriot life. The Chatbot was created by LoqosAI, who specializes in custom business automation solutions.

Created to facilitate connections between government authorities and the tech sector and to suggest interventions aiming to foster and accommodate the growth of the tech sector in Cyprus. Such interventions include updated tax frameworks, naturalisation policies, and other important legislative issues that tech companies are facing.
Created to attract the best talents to Cyprus and help employees with the relocation issues. Furthermore, as human resources is a crucial issue for all companies - and especially tech companies, this working group aims to tackle these issues and also to provide the necessary information and notifications to companies regarding any updates in Governmental procedures.
Created to facilitate connections between the Association of Cyprus Banks, the biggest local banks and the tech sector. Furthermore, it aims to communicate the weaknesses of the Banking Sector. Other important action points of this working group are:

- To change of approach from Banks & introduction of Units focusing on Tech Companies
Created to help local and international startups operating from Cyprus to improve their conditions, tackle legislative pain points, and offer a platform for networking and collaborating between startups and industry leaders.
Created with a multiple role to approach:
- To solve the problem of lack of school seats for the family members of professionals.
- To cultivate a culture for the local young generation to follow a career in STEM and contribute to the talent pool growth.
- To promote and communicate with local Universities programs that aim to upskill or reskill professionals.
Created to solve the problem of affordable housing and lack of infrastructure. This can be achieved through communicating with the Government interventions that will enable and incentivise real estate investors to proceed with such investments for affordable housing. Furthermore it aims to bring together tech companies and real estate firms to promote collaboration towards this direction.
Created to facilitate connections between startups and investors, improve the ecosystem for investors.
As the Health sector is one of the vital sectors of each country, the aim of this working group is to bring together and connect the most important actors in the field of health in Cyprus, to support their growth and to strengthen their innovation capabilities, and their extroversion.
